Conveyor Belt Dribbles
Dribblers weave up a corridor while walkers cross it like closing gates — touches under pressure that never stop moving.
Step 1 of 3·Small touches through the gap, accelerate out
Set-up
20 x 30 corridor marked with cones. Two 'walkers' cross side to side at walking pace; dribblers queue at the bottom with a ball each.
By age group
- U7-U8
- Walkers hold hands in pairs so the gaps stay predictable.
Run it in order
- 1
Dribbler enters the corridor as the walkers cross.
- 2
Weave through the gaps — small touches inside, big touches out.
- 3
You may not stop; a stop sends you back to the queue.
- 4
Exit the far end, turn, and the next dribbler enters.
Coaching points
Eyes up — the walkers are gates, not defenders.
Accelerate out of every gap; slowdowns are where collisions happen.
Change of pace beats change of direction at this age.
Progressions
- Walkers speed up and reverse randomly.
- Add a second dribbler entering from the top.
Make it easier
- Walkers stop at the corridor edges before turning.

Traffic Lights
Every player dribbles a ball and reacts to the coach's colour calls — the classic first session for ball familiarity and heads-up dribbling.

1v1 Lanes
Three side-by-side lanes of pure 1v1: attacker tries to dribble past a defender and stop the ball over the far line — repetition of the moment every game turns on.

Slalom Races
Relay races weaving through cone lines — competition does the repetition, so close control improves without anyone noticing they're doing drills.
