Mirror Balls
Leader moves the ball, follower mirrors every touch — the warm-up that sneaks hundreds of touches into sixty seconds of silliness.
Step 1 of 3·Toe taps, sole rolls, drags — same foot, same speed
Set-up
Pairs face each other two yards apart, one ball per pair.
By age group
- U7-U8
- Four moves pre-taught; the leader picks from the menu.
Run it in order
- 1
Leader performs any ball move — toe taps, sole rolls, drags, body feints.
- 2
Follower mirrors it exactly, with the same foot, at the same speed.
- 3
Coach calls 'SWAP' every 30 seconds — the follower becomes the leader.
- 4
Round three: mirror while both shuffle around their own cone.
Coaching points
Small touches, big imagination — the leader invents, the follower copies.
Stay on the balls of your feet — mirroring is a reaction game.
Both players' eyes spend more time up than down.
Progressions
- Leaders invent two-move combinations for the follower to copy in order.
- Pairs switch balls — different weight, different feel.
Make it easier
- Coach is the leader for all pairs.
